Friday Memos

For politics:

  • I count down the Top 10 Moments of Campaign '08 over at The New Gay, reaching all the way back to the candidate announcements... in 2000-and-freaking-6.
  • The Fix has his final senate predictions, with which I tend to agree. I still think that we may be more likely to see a surprise in Mississippi than in Kentucky, but that's mostly just going on gut feelings.
  • Politico has a conversation on whether or not another Republican would have done better this cycle. Most say that the "real McCain" or "McCain 2000" would have done better than... cyborg McCain? I personally think that Mitt Romney would have been a m uch better candidate - more youth and vigor, more political savvy, better on the economy, and less tied down to Bush. But hard to look in that rear view mirror, isn't it?

And on a more fun level, there is this reminder from Best Week Ever to have a very gay old Halloween.
