In case you haven't heard already, California's Supreme Court today declared the state's gay marriage ban, approved by referendum popular vote, to be unconstitutional. The case was brought to the court by the city of San Fransisco and a number of queer individuals and groups. There is a measure to create a constitutional ban by state-wide referendum vote, but I think this would be unlikely to pass; furthermore, Gov. Arnie says he will uphold the court's decision and does not support the constitutional ban referendum.
More on this tomorrow, when I do not have 30 pages worth of papers due in 20 hours.
